How CBD helped my Anxiety & Depression

I have suffered from anxiety and depression for many years.  When my sister passed my symptoms got worse.  Deep depressions caused by grief and extreme fear of death was crippling.  A couple years after Kaitlin's death I opened a restaurant and threw myself into work.  Long hours and busy restaurant nights left little time for feeling depressed.  As time went on and the stress of the business became overwhelming, depression and anxiety crept back into the forefront.  Last year I was diagnosed with PTSD and began taking a CBD tincture daily.  After a couple months I found my depression and anxiety was more manageable, after a few months I noticed less and less "episodes." I was even able to stop my anti-depressant.*

CBD & Our Endocannabinoid System

Our body naturally produces cannabinoids which are used throughout our anatomy and brain in the endocannabinoid system. In fact, its ability to reduce anxiety in chronically-stressed mice comes from CBD's power to stimulate the growth of new neurons. 

CBD also acts similar to serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that contributes to our feelings of well-being and happiness. CBD mimics serotonin in its ability to bind to some of the receptors such as, 5-HT1A, to improve mood and reduce anxiety and depression.
